Hypnotherapy Schools

Seeking to become a certified clinical hypnotherapist? Hypnotherapy schools that are approved for certification by the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners offer professional instruction in advanced hypnotherapy including but not limited to a curriculum in the following coursework: Advanced Systematic Desensitization; Analytical Hypnotherapy; Clinical Guided Imagery; Emotional Clearing; Transpersonal Hypnosis; Regression Therapy; Gestalt; Intuition and many more classes.

Additionally, hypnotherapy schools may offer in-school curriculums as well as distance education and online learning programs. While the above coursework is part of an advanced hypnotherapy certification plan; other hypnotherapy schools offer basic and comprehensive courses that allow one to choose from different programs beginning with basic, intermediate and advanced certification courses.

While licenses are not currently issued to hypnotherapy practitioners, students who attend hypnotherapy schools may learn and practice various aspects of hypnotherapy comprised of behavioral hypnosis; dental and medical hypnosis; forensic hypnosis; and regression hypnosis, to name a few.

As a general foundation, students who enroll in hypnotherapy schools are often taught how to provide hypnotherapy sessions to clients on habit and phobia elimination; smoking cessation; weight loss; past life regression; personal and spiritual growth; and other hypnotherapy sessions that promote productive behavior and overall wellbeing. Subsequently, some hypnotherapy schools may offer simple self-hypnosis courses.

Generally, courses may range from 120 hours to 600 hours, depending on which school or distance learning program in which individuals enroll. Students may also earn hypnotherapy school diplomas relevant to specific training and education. Additionally, individuals who have completed a hypnotherapy educational program may opt to become members of a reputable hypnotherapy association to assist them academically and professionally.

What is Hypnotherapy or Hypnosis?

Hypnotherapy processes interact directly with inner consciousness to find core issue causes of problems in a client’s life. Clients can examine beliefs and thought processes that are giving rise to emotional, physical, mental and spiritual problems and make changes at the core level from which the outer manifestation originates. With changes at the inner levels of consciousness the outer projection changes.
the clinical use of hypnosis, in which the subject’s powers of consciousness are mobilised and subconscious memories and perceptions are brought into consciousness. Heightened responsiveness to suggestions and commands, suspension of disbelief with lowering of critical judgments, the potential of alteration in perceptions, motor control, or memory in response to suggestions and the subjective experience of responding involuntarily are induced through hypnotherapy.
Hypnotherapy is the application of hypnosis as a form of medical therapy, usually for relieving pain or conditions related to one's state of mind. Practitioners believe that when a client enters, or believes he has entered, a state of trance, the patient is more receptive to suggestion and other therapy. The most common use of hypnotherapy is to remedy maladies like obesity, smoking, pain, ego, anxiety, stress, amnesia, phobias, and performance but many others are also treated by hypnosis.
